Avengers: Endgame Encore returns with four minutes linking to Doomsday

Marvel is putting Avengers: Endgame back in cinemas with four extra minutes that lead straight into Avengers: Doomsday.
The re-release is called Avengers: Endgame Encore. It opens in theatres on 25 September 2026 and adds four minutes of new footage to the 2019 film, with Doomsday dated for 18 December, reported Variety.
The new material was shot during Doomsday production to bridge the two Avengers stories. It brings back Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner.
One scene shows Loki visiting Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter. He wears the uniform of the TVA, the Time Variance Authority, the bureau that polices alternate timelines in the Loki series.
Another scene stays inside the TVA. Mobius, Casey, Ouroboros and Miss Minutes watch two Earths collide in an “incursion”, Marvel’s term for universes crashing together as the multiverse collapses.
A credits scene moves underground. Banner is hiding in a bunker. Doom breaks in. Banner turns into Hulk.
For fans, this means the re-release works as a prologue. Encore does not just replay Endgame. It introduces Doom before Doomsday and reconnects older heroes to the next threat.
Marvel has already seeded Doomsday with four teasers attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash. One reveals that Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter have a son. Another focuses on Thor and his adopted daughter.
A third brings Professor Xavier, Magneto and Cyclops from Fox’s X-Men universe across into the MCU, the shared Marvel film world. The fourth pairs Black Panther and the Wakandans with the Fantastic Four.
Marvel billed Encore as an exclusive theatrical re-release beginning 25 September 2026, stated Marvel. Disney’s fall slate says that release includes an exclusive look at Doomsday, noted Disney.
Encore opened in Korea ahead of the global release week, and the new footage leaked online after that early opening, reported GamesRadar.
An earlier Doomsday trailer at Comic-Con showed Thor confronting Doom, who catches Thor’s hammer and throws it aside before using magic powers to throw Thor aside, reported Variety.
