Reacher Holds No. 1 in US Streaming With 1.18 Billion Minutes

Reacher stayed top of American streaming with 1.18 billion viewing minutes for the week of Sept. 7-13.
The Prime Video action series was the No. 1 overall streaming title in the United States for that week, according to Nielsen data reported by The Hollywood Reporter. It is a fifth straight week above one billion minutes.
The run stretches back to its mid-August premiere. Reacher has held the No. 1 overall spot in four of those five weeks.
The chasing pack was close. The Big Bang Theory finished second overall with 971 million minutes. That made it the most-watched acquired series — a bought-in show rather than one made for a streamer.
Close behind was a newcomer to the chart. Major Crimes debuted in the rankings with 906 million minutes across Netflix and Pluto TV. The long-running crime drama joined Netflix on Sept. 3.
Among original series made for streamers, The Gentlemen led on Netflix with 881 million minutes, up 22 percent on the previous week. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives drew 561 million minutes on Hulu. Lanterns managed 525 million minutes on HBO Max.
Silo still made the top 10 originals. The Apple TV science-fiction series pulled 418 million minutes a week after its third-season finale.
Films had their own race. Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Again? topped the movie chart with 908 million minutes on Netflix. That placed it third among all titles, series included.
Nostalgia did the rest. The 1998 film Practical Magic drew 236 million minutes on HBO Max.
One note on how these numbers are counted. Nielsen's streaming ratings cover viewing on television sets in the US only. They exclude phones, tablets and computers.
What makes this stand out is staying power. Hitting a billion minutes once is rare. Doing it five weeks in a row keeps a whole crew's work in front of viewers long after launch week.
