Fifty writers in one room. Three days. Eight hours of pure writing time.

That is how e.l.f. Cosmetics built Mirror Mix, its second original music compilation album — a collection of tracks by different performers released together. The company launched it on 24 September 2026 to champion the next generation of breakthrough artists.

The build was deliberate. The brand brought together 50 songwriters, producers, creators and collaborators for a marathon creative session, with three days together and eight hours set aside for writing. It worked with producer Michelle Bell, founder of Geo Massive, to run the process, Rolling Stone reported.

Seven featured artists lead the record. The line-up draws rising talent from pop, R&B, Latin and rock. Those confirmed include Hello Sister, Joaquina and Flau'jae Johnson.

Listeners do not need to buy a physical copy. Mirror Mix is live on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. Each service carries the album in full, so listeners can choose their usual app. It will also be available in e.l.f. UP! on Roblox, the online platform where players visit branded worlds and play games.

The beauty company has also created a home for the project on its own website. The page, titled "e.l.f.'s Get Ready with Music Album - Mirror Mix," invites visitors to listen and to learn about the up-and-coming artists and their favourite e.l.f. products. The formal launch notice was published on the e.l.f. Beauty investor-relations site and distributed via Business Wire, e.l.f. Beauty confirmed.

Promotion will move on camera. e.l.f. has partnered with Genius, the music lyrics and editorial platform, for its Open Mic performance series to celebrate the album. All seven artists are due to perform on 30 September.

What makes this stand out is the method. A short, intensive songwriting camp is a familiar way for labels to generate material quickly. A cosmetics company using the same approach to produce a full compilation, rather than licensing one song for an advertisement, is less usual.

For fans, this means the music sits where they already listen. The tracks appear beside other releases on streaming services, inside a gaming space and alongside product pages. The focus stays on new voices, with the company presenting the project as support for artists at an early stage in their careers. No specialist knowledge is required. Press play, and the record finds you.
