Remy Ma Names Nicki Minaj on Surprise Alimony EP

Remy Ma has put her long-running feud with Nicki Minaj back on record.
The Bronx rapper released Alimony, a surprise EP — a short record with fewer songs than a full album — on Sept. 25. The six-track set includes “Rem the Pen,” which names Minaj directly, Billboard reported.
On the track, Remy Ma raps: “Me and Nicki will probably never speak again.” She follows it with the line “but even that bitch told y'all I got a pen,” Complex reported.
“Rem the Pen” also mentions several other women in rap. Remy Ma references Cardi B, Lil Kim, Rah Digga, Missy Elliott and Monie Love on the same song.
The Minaj line reaches back almost two decades. Remy Ma has said she felt Minaj was dissing her on the 2007 mixtape Playtime Is Over, which started the dispute. She answered years later with the diss track “Shether” in February 2017.
That year brought more back-and-forth. Remy Ma believed Minaj aimed subliminal shots at her on Jason Derulo’s “Swalla” and Gucci Mane’s “Make Love.” Neither song names her outright.
Minaj has not answered the new song publicly. Her last album, Pink Friday 2, came out in 2023 and topped the Billboard 200, the main US albums chart. She said during a Sept. 18 appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle that she is working on a project.
Alimony moves beyond that one rivalry. The EP includes the single “W.Y.F.L.” and the song “Why Did I Get Married,” iHeart reported. Remy Ma characterised the project as “a conversation between women.”
For listeners tracking the feud, the wording is blunt. It does not call for a reunion. It credits her writing skill in the same breath.
