Michelle Branch and Maren Morris share new Goodbye to You with Laguna Beach video

Michelle Branch and Maren Morris have released a new duet version of Goodbye to You. The track arrived on 25 September via BMG, paired with a music video starring Kristin Cavallari. Billboard reported the release on 26 September.
Branch and Morris had previewed the collaboration on stage in Nashville. Branch made a surprise appearance during Morris's 10th-anniversary celebration for her debut album Hero at the Ryman Auditorium. They performed the reworked song together that night.
The video looks back to early-2000s television. It recreates the prom scene from Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, the MTV reality programme that used the original Goodbye to You in its first season. Cavallari, one of that show's central figures, takes the lead in the new clip.
The duet is the second confirmed track from Branch's forthcoming EP, Everywhere and Back Again. An EP is a release shorter than a full album. This one is due on 6 November via BMG and centres on new recordings of songs from across her catalogue with guest collaborators. The project comes as Branch notes 25 years in music.
The EP was launched with a reworked The Game of Love' reuniting Branch with Gregg Alexander. That first track introduced the idea behind the set: older songs cut again with new voices in the room. Goodbye to You' follows that pattern, with Morris sharing lead vocals.
`Goodbye to You' first appeared on Branch's 2001 debut album The Spirit Room. That album sold three million copies worldwide and was certified double-platinum in the United States, a sales award for two million units. The single peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100, the US singles chart, in 2002.
Branch's later catalogue includes Everything Comes And Goes from 2010 and The Loud Music Hits EP from 2011. She also issued The Spirit Room (20th Anniversary Edition) in 2021. The new EP returns to that history rather than starting from fresh material.
Branch will support the release on the Everywhere and Back Again Tour. The nearly 20-date autumn run sold out nationwide within a week. A 17-date extension in 2027 was then added.
The official clip is listed as `Michelle Branch and Maren Morris - Goodbye To You (Official Music Video)' on Branch's YouTube channel. YouTube lists the 2026 version with a 25 September release date.
For fans, this means one song now carries three timelines. A 2001 single meets a 2004 television moment and two singers in 2026.
