KATSEYE made their Saturday Night Live debut on 26 September, performing 'Animal' and 'Hootie Frutti' during the Season 52 premiere. Only four took the stage.

The episode was hosted by Jalen Brunson, with KATSEYE billed as the musical guest, according to NBC. Each SNL edition pairs a host with a musical act for two performances in the night. KATSEYE used both slots for songs from their latest release.

The group played two tracks from their EP 'Wild', a release shorter than a full album, as reported by Rolling Stone. 'Wild' was released in August. It also includes 'Pinky Up,' 'Bel Air' and 'That Way.'

Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza did not perform with the group on the night. Both members are on hiatus, a temporary break from group activities. Laforteza cited her mental health when stepping away.

KATSEYE are a six-person girl group based in Los Angeles. They were formed two years ago through 'Dream Academy', the talent competition show that selected the line-up. The SNL booking was their first appearance on the long-running American sketch show.

'Animal' and 'Hootie Frutti' are listed among the group's charting songs by NBC. The two songs were presented in sequence during the broadcast. No other 'Wild' tracks were performed.

The appearance comes ahead of the Wildworld Tour, according to Rolling Stone. The run comprises 31 shows. It starts in Europe and is due to wrap up in Mexico City in late November.

For fans, this means the first television presentation of 'Wild' came from a shortened line-up. Four members carried the two performances while two remain on break. The tour will follow across Europe before closing in Mexico.
