Five Nights at Freddy's joins Fortnite for Fortnitemares on 1 October

Freddy Fazbear is coming to Fortnite.

Epic has confirmed that Five Nights at Freddy's will feature in this year's Fortnitemares, Fortnite's annual Halloween event. Fortnitemares 2026 begins on 1 October, according to Eurogamer.

Five Nights at Freddy's is a horror series centred on a haunted family pizzeria and its animatronic mascots. Fortnite is a free-to-play online game where players fight, build and survive on a large shared map.

That pizzeria is part of the crossover. Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria will appear as a location on Fortnite's map during the event.

Four familiar faces come with it. Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy will appear as bosses, powerful computer-controlled enemies that players can track down and fight.

Boss fights are a regular part of Fortnite events. Defeat one, and you usually collect special weapons or items.

Earlier reporting suggested Fortnitemares 2026 is expected to run from 1 October through 31 October, according to Vice. Epic has so far confirmed the start date.

For players, this means a horror flavour to the Halloween season. Expect jump scares, themed locations and a reason to drop into the pizzeria early.
