Prime Video's Carrie Series Sets Eight-Episode Launch for October
All eight episodes of Mike Flanagan's Carrie will arrive on Prime Video on October 7, 2026. The full season will drop at once, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries, according to Amazon MGM Studios.
Flanagan is adapting Stephen King's novel for television. He serves as showrunner, the person who leads the writing and day-to-day production, and is also an executive producer alongside King, according to Amazon MGM Studios.
Summer H. Howell plays Carrie White, the shy teenager whose telekinetic powers turn a night of cruelty into disaster. Viewers may recognise Howell from Hunter Hunter. She follows three earlier screen Carries: Sissy Spacek in Brian De Palma's 1976 film, Angela Bettis in NBC's 2002 TV movie, and Chloë Grace Moretz in Sony's 2013 film directed by Kimberly Peirce, according to Deadline.
Samantha Sloyan plays Margaret White, Carrie's deeply religious mother. Piper Laurie created the part on screen in the 1976 original. Patricia Clarkson took it on in the 2002 TV movie.
Siena Agudong plays Sue Snell, the classmate who tries to make amends after the locker-room bullying. Amy Irving played Sue in the original film. Kandyse McClure played the role in the 2002 version.
Alison Thornton plays Chris Hargensen, the student who drives much of the torment. Nancy Allen originated the role in 1976. Amber Midthunder plays Rita Desjardin, the gym teacher caught between the students and the school. Betty Buckley originated that role, then billed as Miss Desjardin, in the 1976 film.
The wider ensemble includes Joel Oulette, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti and Thalia Dudek. Prime Video revealed the October 7 date at Comic-Con, according to Deadline, and later released first-look images and a full trailer, according to Deadline.
For fans, this means time. An eight-episode run gives Flanagan room to stay with Carrie at home and at school before the prom night that every earlier version has had to reach in about two hours.
