You can already listen to music from the next Witcher 3 expansion

You can hear the next chapter of The Witcher 3 before you can play it.
Milan Records has released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past (OST Gamescom 2026 EP). The five-track soundtrack collection, an OST in industry shorthand, is available to listen to now, according to Eurogamer.
The music features work by Magda Urbańska, Marcin Przybyłowicz and Daniel Elms. Przybyłowicz is a long-time composer for the series. Urbańska and Elms add fresh voices to that familiar sound.
An expansion is extra story content added to the base game after launch. This taster keeps the focus tight. Just five pieces. No filler.
The tracklist runs in this order: Return to the Path by Magda Urbańska, Awoken by Magda Urbańska, Into Darkness by Daniel Elms, What’s Done by Marcin Przybyłowicz, and Belleteyn Night by Magda Urbańska.
CD Projekt Red revealed Songs of the Past during Opening Night Live, the live showcase that opens the Gamescom games fair, in August. The full expansion is scheduled for release in 2027, according to the official Witcher site.
That timing puts the music well ahead of the story it comes from. Listeners get the mood first. Context follows later.
There is also a nearer date for series fans. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, an updated version of the 2015 role-playing game reworked for current hardware, has a launch date of 29 September 2026, according to CD Projekt Red. With the current date at 28 September 2026, that arrival is one day away.
For fans, this means a short wait and a long one. The remaster arrives almost immediately. The new songs can bridge the gap until Songs of the Past lands in 2027.
