Blizzard is giving Diablo 4 players one of the game's rarest crafting materials after server trouble held up the new season.

The free Resplendent Spark follows a multi-hour delay to the launch of Season of Hell's Legacy, the game's 15th season, caused by log-in errors and server problems, according to Eurogamer. Affected players are receiving the item through in-game mail. That delay kept many players from getting into the game at all on launch night.

The mailed message tells players: "We're sorry for any unexpected issues you may have experienced." It adds: "Thank you for standing with us. Please accept this token of appreciation for our journey ahead."

A Resplendent Spark is a high-end crafting material, used to make Mythic Unique weapons and armour, the top tier of loot chased for powerful character builds. Only a small number of Sparks are normally available each season, which is why players treat them as precious. The apology Spark is arriving through the Horadric Post, a new in-game mail system added with Hell's Legacy that lets Blizzard send items directly to players.

The launch problems went beyond log-ins. The Tree of Whispers, a regular system that grants rewards for completing tasks across the map, failed to display its rewards for some players. Blizzard addressed the issues with patches and hotfixes, small corrective updates, in the days after launch.

Hell's Legacy celebrates 30 years of Diablo with a battle for the soul of Sanctuary, in a season Blizzard describes as full of iconic moments from the series' past. The anniversary celebration ran from 15 September 2026 at 11:00 a.m. PT to 29 September 2026 at 10:59 a.m. PT, according to Blizzard. The apology gift was reported on 28 September 2026, a day before that celebration period was due to end.

The season also looks ahead. The Amazon, a spear-and-bow fighter from earlier Diablo games, is the next new class for Diablo IV, according to Blizzard.

For players, this means a rough start has ended with something genuinely useful. A free Spark saves hours of grinding for rare materials. It will not give back a missed launch night, but it gives affected players a head start on the season's chase for top-level gear.
