Futurama wraps Season 14 on Hulu on Monday, 28 September. There are no further plans at the moment for it to return as a regular series. Three big specials are still on the way.

The last episode of the season is titled "Final Ending: The Last Conclusion." The logline is simple. Fry and his brother sneak into a PG-13 movie as kids, with shocking consequences for the future. Hulu lists 28 September 2026 as the season finale date Hulu.

That pause after the finale is confirmed, not rumoured. There is no order in place for another full season. Instead, the show continues in a different shape, with three extended episodes described as "XXXL-Sized" Variety.

Those specials were first announced at San Diego Comic-Con in summer 2026. They are now in production. The run will kick off in 2027 with a Christmas-related instalment. Fan favourite Robot Santa will play a role in it.

Co-creator Matt Groening put it bluntly: "They can put us in a coffin. They can nail the lid shut, but they can't bury us. We will rise again."

It has been here before. Futurama premiered on Fox in 1999 and ended there in 2003. Comedy Central revived it in 2008 and wrapped that run in 2013. Hulu revived it again in 2023, bringing it back after a decade with 10 new episodes on 24 July that year.

Hulu then renewed it for two more seasons totalling another 20 episodes. Season 14 launched on 3 August, with new episodes listed across September on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.

For fans, this means a change of rhythm rather than a full goodbye. No weekly slot for now. But writers, animators and voice actors already have the next stories in work, starting with Christmas 2027.
