Air Supply to receive Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Oct. 8
Air Supply will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 11:30 a.m. PT. The ceremony will be held at 6126 Hollywood Blvd. Billboard confirmed the date, time and location on Sept. 28.
David Foster will speak at the ceremony. Pat Sajak will also speak at the event. Lisa Foxx will MC the proceedings. The whole programme will be streamed live on the Walk of Fame website for people who cannot be there in person.
The honour goes to the two members of Air Supply. They are Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock. The pair have performed and recorded together under the same group name for five decades.
Their working relationship began a long way from Hollywood. Russell and Hitchcock first met in Melbourne, Australia, on May 12, 1975. The meeting took place during rehearsals for the Australian touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Both singers had been brought together for that stage show. They started singing together during that run, and Air Supply grew out of it.
That start date still shapes how they mark time as a group. Air Supply marked their 50th anniversary on May 13, 2025, one day after the anniversary of that first meeting. They celebrated with a sold-out debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The date and the venue put the milestone in front of a live audience.
For fans, this means two ways to take part. People in Los Angeles can head to Hollywood Blvd on the morning of Oct. 8. Everyone else can follow the speeches and the unveiling through the live stream. The star itself will remain in the pavement at 6126 Hollywood Blvd after the cameras are gone.
