The B-52s will receive the 2,861st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next week.

The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29 at 11:30 a.m. PT, according to details reported by Billboard. The number places the group in a long running sequence along the pavement. Each new star is counted in order.

The location is set. The B-52s' star will sit at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of Amoeba Music. That address puts the unveiling outside one of the city's best known record shops, where passers-by can stop and watch.

People who cannot get to Hollywood will still be able to follow along. Organisers will stream the ceremony live at www.walkoffame.com. The stream gives distant viewers the same view as the crowd on the day.

Radio presenter Richard Blade will act as emcee for the event. The role means he will introduce the speakers and keep the short ceremony moving. His name is listed in the ceremony billing.

Two guest acts are scheduled to speak in honour of the band. The Go-Go's will take part, alongside actor and comedian Fred Armisen. No further programme details have been confirmed.

The date firms up an honour that has been in the works for more than a year. The B-52s were named as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025, a selection announced in 2024. That gap between selection and installation is normal. Stars are scheduled, funded and built before a date is fixed.

For fans, this means a chance to plan. The late-morning start allows for travel across Los Angeles. The live stream covers everyone else.

What makes this stand out is the pairing on the podium. The Go-Go's, who are scheduled to speak, already hold their own Walk of Fame honour. Belinda Carlisle, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock, Kathy Valentine and Jane Wiedlin are listed together on a star, according to the Walk of Fame website. Their presence links two groups that broke through in the same era of guitar-led pop played on radio and television.

The B-52s' ceremony follows the usual Walk of Fame pattern. A star is unveiled, speeches are made, and photographs are taken for the archive. The physical star then remains in place for visitors to find.

Anyone heading to Hollywood Boulevard will need to look for the Amoeba Music shopfront. That is where the 2,861st star will be set. The live audience will gather around the site from before the 11:30 a.m. start.

The Oct. 29 date is the key point. It is the morning when the covering comes off. After that, the star becomes part of the street.
