Argentina's The Eternaut added 236,000 subscribers to Netflix and led another 2.78 million members to renew.

That is 3.01 million subscribers engaged in total worldwide, according to estimates from Parrot Analytics shared in Madrid on 29 September, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The numbers came from Jaime Otero, vice president, partnerships at Parrot Analytics. He was speaking in a session titled "Content Without Borders: How to Win Over Audiences and Markets". The talk was part of the sixth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria, which opened in Madrid, Spain, and runs through Friday at Matadero Madrid.

The Eternaut, or El Eternauta in Spanish, starts with a toxic snowfall over Buenos Aires. Survivors join forces to resist an invisible threat from another world. A second season is in the works.

Parrot Analytics ranked the Argentine science-fiction series as the top Spanish- and Portuguese-language series of 2025. SPLATAM is industry shorthand for programming in those two languages, covering Latin America, Spain and Portugal. The show also took Most In-Demand Latin American Original Series of 2025 at the 8th Annual Global Demand Awards, according to Parrot Analytics.

The Madrid session also set out where that demand now lives. In 2025, markets outside the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking world accounted for the majority of global demand for SPLATAM series for the first time, according to Parrot Analytics. South Korea drove much of that growth.

South Korea registered a 243 percent gain in demand for SPLATAM series over the 2024 to 2026 period. Japan was up 148 percent. Turkey rose 132 percent and China rose 119 percent over the same period.

What makes this stand out is the distance travelled. A story rooted in Buenos Aires found new members and kept existing ones for a global platform, while the fastest growth in appetite for its language group came from Asia. For fans, this means the renewal math is public. The crew gets to go again.
