Linkin Park takes comeback story to cinemas with Unshatter

Linkin Park will put its comeback on cinema screens worldwide on September 30 with Linkin Park: Unshatter, a documentary directed by band member Joe Hahn.
The film will have a limited theatrical run. Tickets are offered through the band's official website, which bills the project as "Unshatter from Linkin Park" and lists September 30 as the date for theatres worldwide.
The cinema release follows a live album. Unshatter (Live in Sao Paulo) arrived five days before the film, according to Billboard. The band's site promotes the record as the film soundtrack and carries a "listen now" link.
The documentary had its world premiere in Los Angeles on September 24, 2026. That launch closed a long build-up to the public release.
At the centre of the film is Sao Paulo. The November 15, 2024 concert there, held on the same day Linkin Park released the album From Zero, is used as the framing device for the story. The band played two nights at the city's Allianz Parque stadium, on November 15 and 16, to nearly 97,000 fans each night.
The film draws on more than Brazil. It includes concert footage from Sao Paulo and from the September 11, 2024 show in Los Angeles where the band introduced new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.
Hahn said the project grew beyond its first plan. Speaking to Billboard over Zoom, he said the film was originally slated to be just the Sao Paulo concert viewing experience. He felt the return needed context. He wanted to show what it took for the group to get back on its feet.
He described making the documentary as a healing process involving reflection and acknowledgement. The overall sentiment, he said, is a message of hope. Armstrong has also spoken with Hahn about pain, growth and starting over in interviews around the band's rebirth.
For fans, this means two ways in. The live album carries the Sao Paulo nights. The film tells the story around them.
