Miley Cyrus Thanks Fans After Bass Persuades Debuts at No. 1

Miley Cyrus says her latest No. 1 goes beyond a chart win.
In an Instagram post shared after the result was confirmed, Cyrus wrote that Bass Persuades reaching No. 1 "transcends a win". She thanked Atlantic Records, her team and her fans, writing that fans make her world go round.
The post included two photos. One showed a giant No. 1 made from white roses. The other showed Cyrus posing beside the arrangement. It also included a congratulatory note from Atlantic Records chairman and chief executive Elliot Grainge on the debut.
Bass Persuades opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the United States albums chart, on the chart dated Oct. 3, Billboard reported. It earned 61,000 equivalent album units — the measure that converts streams and sales into album sales — in the US in the week ending Sept. 24, according to Luminate.
That total gives Cyrus her sixth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. It is also her 16th LP to reach the top 10. Her last chart-topper before this was Bangerz in 2013.
Bass Persuades is her 10th studio album. The title track, released as the first single, entered the Billboard Hot 100, the US singles chart, at No. 35 on the chart dated Sept. 19. That entry became her 24th top-40 hit.
The single also gave Cyrus a first elsewhere. "Bass Persuades" entered the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart at No. 2, her first visit to that chart, Forbes reported. Zara Larsson's "Midnight Sun" held the spot above it that week.
What makes this stand out is the gap. Thirteen years passed between No. 1 albums. The chart week was busy too, with Riley Green and beabadoobee also entering the Billboard 200 top 10 alongside Cyrus, Billboard reported.
Cyrus will celebrate the album on stage next. She has two Hollywood Bowl shows booked for Oct. 16 and 18.
