Angèle, Caroline Polachek and SebastiAn share new single “Love Triangle”

Angèle, Caroline Polachek and SebastiAn have released a joint single called “Love Triangle”. The track premiered on BBC Radio 1 before its full release, Pitchfork reported on 29 September. It gives all three artists shared billing on one song, rather than a lead act with guests.
Polachek sings in French on the track. SebastiAn produced the electro beat behind the vocals, shaping the drums, tempo and synthesiser parts that carry the song. The result centres French-language singing from both Angèle and Polachek, with production built for clubs and radio alike.
“Love Triangle” is a preview of Angèle’s forthcoming third album, “Instinct”. A preview single is a song put out early to introduce the sound of a full record before the rest of the tracklist arrives. “Instinct” is due out on 12 October. It will be her first LP, the term for a full-length album, since 2022’s “Nonante-Cinq”.
That makes the new album her first full-length release in four years. The gap covers writing, recording and rollout, the period when singles are scheduled and artwork, videos and live plans are set. “Love Triangle” is the latest song to be lifted from that process and the first to show how the collaborations will sit inside the record.
“Instinct” also features Justice and Soulwax. Both acts appear alongside Polachek and SebastiAn on the guest list. Angèle self-produced the album with longtime collaborator Tristan Salvati, Stereogum reported when the record was announced in August. Self-production means the artist oversees the recording sessions and final sound, in this case with a trusted co-producer.
Angèle had teased “Love Triangle” on social media in the days before its arrival, according to Belgian broadcaster RTBF. The posts did not reveal the full picture at first. The BBC Radio 1 premiere then confirmed the three names together.
What makes this stand out for listeners is the exchange at its core. Two pop singers trade lines in French over a track by an electronic producer known for beat-led work. For fans following the album, this means one collaboration is now public, with more to come when “Instinct” arrives in October.
