Underscores Drops 'Unlimited Love' and Frost Children Remix of 'The Peace'
Underscores released a new single, "Unlimited Love," alongside a Frost Children remix of "The Peace" on Friday, August 28, as confirmed by the artist's social media posts earlier in the week Resident Advisor.
"Unlimited Love" is a long-awaited outtake from Underscores' album U — a track the artist performed throughout the Galleria Tour but had not officially released until now. According to Pitchfork, the song appears to sample the guitar lick from another Underscores track, "Do It," folding one piece of the U era into another Pitchfork.
The B-side of the release is a reworked version of "The Peace" remixed by Frost Children, the sibling electronic duo whose own output sits at the hyperactive edge of pop and club music. "The Peace" is the second song from U to receive a remix treatment. Frost Children and Underscores previewed the remix during a Lollapalooza afterparty shared with Australian producer Ninajirachi, according to a post on Underscores' Instagram Pitchfork. "The Peace" also received a new music video earlier in August.
The U catalogue has been circulating beyond Underscores' own releases. South Korean pop singer Yves released a reworked version of "Do It" earlier in the year, giving the album's material a second life through a K-pop lens Pitchfork.
For fans, the single art may carry an extra detail worth watching. Pitchfork notes that the artwork accompanying "Unlimited Love" appears to tease something called "after-U" — a phrase that, given the album's title and the ongoing stream of remixes and outtakes, could signal a further chapter tied to the U era. No official confirmation of what "after-U" refers to has been announced.
Underscores announced both releases on August 26 via Instagram, with Frost Children's own account sharing the news the same week. Resident Advisor confirmed the August 28 release date and the pairing of the two tracks Resident Advisor.
The release adds another layer to what has already been a busy year for the U material — a K-pop reinterpretation, a new video, and now a fresh single and remix arriving on the same day.
