Grand Theft Auto VI will leave Orlando off the map.

Rockstar Games has confirmed the game will not include a spoof of Walt Disney World. Jack McPherson of Rockstar told Game Informer the team will not recreate Florida's central region, as reported by GameSpot.

That cut is broad. It rules out Orlando and tourist sites linked to it, including Universal Studios. It also rules out SeaWorld.

The Space Coast is out too. That stretch includes Cape Canaveral and its historic launch pad. It will not appear in the game.

The setting is Leonida, Rockstar's fictionalised version of Florida. The action centres on Vice City, the series' long-running stand-in for Miami.

McPherson said the game is still geared to deliver the full Florida experience. The comment points to density over geography, with more detail packed into the areas the team did choose.

The story follows two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Their names were confirmed in Game Informer's cover reveal, published on 25 September.

Leonida will include native and non-native wildlife on land, in the air and at sea. The game will also include advanced weather systems built to simulate Florida's rougher weather, not only sunshine.

Rockstar describes the game as a single-player experience. It is scheduled to launch on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Pre-orders opened on 25 June, a date set by Rockstar in June. The publisher has also announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, with 34 new tracks, for release on 19 November, according to Rockstar Games. A premium collection, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, was introduced separately.

Much of the new detail comes from Game Informer's cover story. The feature runs to 14 pages with 12 exclusive screenshots and appears in issue 382. The magazine said its digital edition would be readable on 29 September, and that its reporters interviewed several lead designers at Rockstar for the piece.

For fans, this means a trade. No theme-park parody. No road trip to the launch pads. Instead, a tighter focus on the south, with Vice City at the centre and its weather, wildlife and streets doing the heavy lifting.
