Amazon MGM Studios is developing a feature film based on Freddie the Fix, the Hollywood horror-noir comic series by Garth Ennis, as reported by Deadline. Lawrence Lamont will direct. The report was published on 30 September 2026.

Development means the studio is backing the project through writing and planning. A feature is a full-length film, made for cinemas and streaming platforms. No decision to move into production has been announced.

The film follows Freddie, a fixer to Hollywood's supernatural elite. In industry talk, a fixer is someone called in to clear up trouble quietly. Freddie has a gift for making incriminating things disappear, according to the same report.

Horror-noir points to the mix. It is a crime story with a frightening, otherworldly edge, set among stars and studios. The setting is fictional Hollywood, populated by monsters as well as moguls.

Kalen Egan and Travis Sentell are writing the screenplay. The screenplay is the script that sets dialogue, action and structure before casting and filming. No cast has been announced. That is normal at this stage, when the story is still being written.

No release date has been announced either. Release dates are claimed and moved as scripts, casts and production schedules come together.

Kimberly Steward and Alex Foster will produce for K Period Media. Kenya Barris will produce for Khalabo Ink Society, his production organisation. Producers guide a film from early development through shooting and delivery, hiring key staff and managing the work.

The executive producers are listed as Ennis, Jeremy Allen, Lamont, Adam Glass, Michael Bogner and David Stone. An executive producer credit often covers creative guidance, finance help or control of the underlying rights. It does not always involve day-to-day production.

The comic was illustrated by Mike Perkins and launched from Ninth Circle in December 2024. Ninth Circle is a creator-owned horror imprint at Image Comics. Creator-owned means the writers and artists retain ownership of their characters and stories, rather than handing them to a publisher.

Freddie the Fix was its inaugural, or first, release. It is now the first Ninth Circle property to move toward the screen, as reported by Deadline. Image Comics works through imprints, or branded lines, that focus on different genres and creators.

For fans, this means a quick journey from page to studio lot. A series on shelves for less than two years is already taking shape as a film project, with director and writers attached.
