The team behind Netflix's His & Hers will adapt author Alice Feeney's next novel, Twist, for television.

The project is in development with Fifth Season as the studio, meaning the company that makes and sells the series, as reported on 30 September by Deadline. It reunites much of the creative group from His & Hers, which premiered on Netflix in January.

William Oldroyd will write and direct the adaptation. Kristen Campo's Campout Productions, Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael's Freckle Films, and Bill Dubuque and Tessa Thompson's Viva Maude are developing it alongside Fifth Season.

Oldroyd, Campo, Chastain, Dubuque, Thompson, Carmichael and Kishori Rajan are attached as executive producers, the senior credits who oversee the creative and business decisions. No channel or platform is attached yet. In development means no order to series has been given.

Twist centres on a flight attendant living a double life with two different husbands. A murder shatters those lives. The story is told across dual points of view and billed as a marriage thriller about love, marriage, murder and revenge.

The book is not out yet. It will be published in the United States in February 2027.

The reunion follows a large audience for His & Hers. The series starred Thompson as Anna and Jon Bernthal as Jack. It drew 104 million views globally from launch through the end of June, making it Netflix's most-watched show of the first half of the year, according to the viewing data cited by Deadline.

For viewers, this means a wait. There is no cast, episode count or release date for Twist. The book must first reach shelves before cameras can follow.

Feeney's novels have become a steady pipeline for screen adaptations. Her novel My Husband's Wife is also being developed as a TV show by Carnival Films, as previously reported by Deadline.
