London's greenest hotel fleet just became art.

The Peninsula London, the hotel, has turned six of its signature green cars into a moving installation for October, created with Brooklyn-based artist Eden Kozokaro, who works professionally as Kozo WWD. The project is timed for Frieze London, the contemporary art fair season.

The six cars are an eclectic line-up. It includes two Rolls-Royce Phantom IIs, the British luxury marque's flagship saloon, a Bentley Bentayga, an electrified Austin Taxi, a BMW i7 and an LEVC, the taxi maker’s electric vehicle.

Kozo is known for micro-realism across fine art and tattooing, work built on very fine detail at very small scale. Here the idea is British countryside hiding in plain sight. Each car carries a torn-paper effect, with illustrated Peninsula pages shown peeling back to reveal parkland, animals, rivers, wooded hills and stately homes.

The execution took three months. Kozokaro began with digital sketches layered onto photographs of each vehicle, to test how the pastoral scenes would sit on doors, bonnets and rooflines. Topaz, the hotel’s detailing team, then adapted the artwork to each model’s proportions and applied it as a bespoke vinyl wrap, a printed film customised to the bodywork.

Cart Department, the creative production company, facilitated the project.

The timing is deliberate. Frieze London and Frieze Masters 2026 take place from 14 to 18 October 2026 at The Regent’s Park Frieze. Together the two fairs present almost 300 galleries from 48 countries and regions, which puts large numbers of collectors, artists and curious visitors on London’s streets in the same week.

The hotel group has form with statement cars. The Peninsula in Hong Kong commissioned what was then the world’s largest single order of Rolls-Royce Phantoms.

What makes this stand out is the setting. Art cars are usually seen inside a gallery or tent. These six will be working vehicles, collecting guests, waiting at lights and moving through traffic.

For visitors, that also links to another art car in the building. BMW, the German car maker and an official partner of Frieze London, has placed its 14th BMW Art Car by David Hockney on display at The Peninsula London as part of the BMW Art Car World Tour BMW Group. BMW said all 20 of its Art Cars would be shown together for the first time at BMW Welt from 29 July to 31 August 2026.
