Sony sells Lego Astro Bot separately on PlayStation Direct

Sony is selling its Lego Astro Bot figure on its own through the PlayStation Direct store, with no need to buy the larger Lego PlayStation set alongside it.
The standalone listing answers the question many collectors asked at launch. Astro Bot was first shown as an add-on for the big console build. Now it has its own checkout button.
The price is US$24.99 / £17.99 plus shipping on PlayStation Direct, according to Video Games Chronicle. PlayStation Plus subscribers, members of Sony's paid membership programme, get 5% off that price. That brings the figure well below the cost of the full bundle.
The set has 276 pieces and stands around 8 inches high on its included stand. It is labelled for adults aged 18 and up, Lego's standard tag for display-focused sets rather than toys for children.
The build has a few customisable touches. The head and arms can be moved into different poses. The eyes can be swapped between round and half-moon shapes.
The larger Lego PlayStation set remains the main event for model builders. It recreates the original PlayStation console and controller in bricks, as listed on PlayStation Direct. It has 1,911 pieces and is priced at US$179.99 / €159.99 / £139.99. The console model measures over 10.5 inches (26 cm) wide.
For fans, this means there are now two ways to get the robot without paying for the console. Shoppers can buy Astro Bot directly, or claim it as a free gift-with-purchase on the Lego website when spending more than US$150 / £135.
That gift route is time limited. Lego lists the set as product number 40899, and its promotions page puts the offer window from 1 October 2026 to 7 October 2026, according to LEGO. In the United Kingdom, the terms require a qualifying online purchase of £135 or more in Lego merchandise only.
What makes this stand out is choice. Completionists can still pair the two builds on the shelf. Everyone else can pick up the 276-piece bot on its own.
