Control Resonant gets PC photo mod, official mode due in November

PC players can already take stylish snaps in Control Resonant, thanks to a fan-made mod, while everyone else waits for the official Photo Mode in November.
The mod, titled "Photo Mode in Game - Control Resonant", was created by Nexus Mods user Kkyleeb21. It switches the game to its built-in free camera and freezes time, which lets players line up a shot without enemies or action getting in the way, GameSpot reports.
It is listed as mod ID 62 on Nexus Mods. Once installed, it can hide the whole HUD, the on-screen health, maps and prompts, for a clean image. Players can also roll the camera, zoom in and out, orbit around the lead character Dylan, then detach entirely for free flight.
The toolkit will feel familiar to Remedy fans. It is designed to work much like the photo mode in Alan Wake 2, with presets, exposure and depth-of-field settings, image cropping and six filters to change the look of a scene.
Players on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 will have to wait. Remedy Entertainment plans to release its own official Photo Mode sometime in November. The studio said it held the feature back at launch to prioritise getting the game into the best possible shape.
Remedy also said it consulted talented virtual photographers from the community to help build its version. Virtual photographers are players who specialise in staged in-game pictures, rather than screenshots grabbed mid-fight.
The fan mod has arrived alongside Game Update 1.4.0, which adds several practical changes. The headline addition is New Game ++, which allows an infinite number of repeat runs with kept progress. That sits beside New Game Plus, the usual mode that lets players restart the story with their gear intact.
The update also adds the Build Power number to the bottom left of the Loadout screen, so players can see their Power level at a glance. A new HUD notification icon flags fresh items to buy or upgrade in The Gap, the game's hub area. Pinned upgrade materials can now be tracked through the Vendor icon on the map.
Combat gets a little breathing room too. Overall combat and intensity in the Unknown Zone is down by 10%-15%. On sound, there is a separate volume slider for radio dialogue, plus audio balance customisation between speakers or headphones and the DualSense controller speaker. An Assist Mode option for Power Core Charge Duration adds a 100-300% multiplier for players who want more time.
What makes this stand out is the split. PC players get a stopgap now. Console players get a wait, but with the promise of a version shaped with input from the people most likely to use it.
