Control Resonant's Alan Wake Clip Is Not a Teaser, Says Remedy Director

Remedy's creative director says Control Resonant is not previewing a future Remedy game, despite a hidden Alan Wake clip in the title. Mikael Kasurinen made the point in an interview with Video Games Chronicle, published on 21 October 2026.
The clip is a short live-action video tucked into a hidden room. Method reports that the room sits within the game's Evacuation Zone, and that players reach it through fast-travel doors, the doorways that let a character jump between distant parts of a map.
The video features Sam Lake, Ilkka Villi, who played Alan Wake physically, and Matthew Porretta, who voices the character. Those three names will matter to anyone who followed Alan Wake, the earlier Remedy thriller that the clip revisits.
Kasurinen said the Alan Wake material is the only Alan Wake element in Control Resonant. He said the game is meant to stand on its own, and he described the clip as a seed for something new. He did not say what that something is.
GamingBible describes the moment as a small but important narrative event, one that many players may miss depending on how they play.
Control Resonant is a sequel to Control, the action game in which Remedy's protagonist uses supernatural powers to fight an unseen threat. Remedy's game page now names Dylan Faden as the lead, a character who fights for his humanity and survival against a reality-bending cosmic threat. Back in February 2026, Remedy had said the game was scheduled for a 2026 release on PlayStation.
For players, the practical point is simple. The Alan Wake clip is optional viewing, and the game's main story does not depend on it.
