Catherine, Princess of Wales, told fellow minibus passengers she still has to remind her own children to buckle up. “I have to remind my children to put their seatbelts on too,” she said during the outing, according to Hello Magazine.

The remark came on Wednesday, Sept. 30, when the Princess, 44, visited West Sussex Minibus in Pulborough. The group is a volunteer-led community transport organisation that runs lifts for people who would otherwise struggle to get out and about, as reported by People.

Kate boarded the minibus and met volunteers Kay and Terri before joining residents for the ride to Pulborough Village Hall. The destination was the regular weekly lunch club. The Princess joined the team in Pulborough to draw attention to the service and the volunteers who keep it running.

She also helped with pick-ups along the route. She collected 94-year-old Stella Drewett and encouraged her to fasten her seatbelt for the journey. It was that small exchange that prompted her comment about Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis needing the same reminder.

There was chat about home life as well. Kate said she and William, Prince of Wales, make a good “double act” at washing up, with William doing the drying. It drew a laugh on board. Simple stuff.

Two family rules have come up before. Kate and William enforce a strict “no shouting” rule at home for the children, according to Yahoo. Kate has also spoken about a deal she made with George, Charlotte and Louis to let them stay up late on a school night, as reported by People.

What makes this stand out is how ordinary it sounded. Seatbelts, drying up, bedtime negotiations. The Princess did not present them as parenting advice. They were just part of the conversation on a short bus ride to lunch.
