White House tells Chuck Lorre to seek help after profanity-laced Trump speech

The White House has told television creator Chuck Lorre to seek psychiatric help after a profanity-laced charity speech attacking President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump.
Spokesperson Davis Ingle made the remark to Fox News Digital in response to Lorre's onstage jokes, according to a report published on 4 October. Ingle said Lorre "should immediately seek psychiatric help to treat his severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome," Deadline.
Lorre made the comments while accepting the Founders Award at a Project Angel Food fundraiser in Los Angeles last weekend. The event raises money for meals for people living with serious illness. His speech targeted both the president and the first lady.
During the speech, Lorre called the president a "bloated orange piece of sh*t," Deadline. He also said he wakes up every morning and turns on CNN to see if the president "had a heart attack while straining to take a dump."
He then turned to the first lady. Lorre described Melania Trump as a Yugoslavian escort, according to reporting published on 3 October, Breitbart.
The room laughed. Lorre paused after the first dig drew a strong reaction and told the crowd: "OK, I do have the right audience," The Hollywood Reporter.
The White House response followed within days. Fox News first reported Ingle's statement on 3 October, describing Lorre's gala speech last Saturday as profanity-laced. Deadline carried the fuller exchange on 4 October.
For viewers who know the name but not the face, Lorre, 73, is the creator of "The Big Bang Theory." That long-running network sitcom, meaning a half-hour comedy made for broadcast television, ran for 12 seasons and remains one of the most repeated comedies in syndication, meaning reruns licensed to other channels and stations.
What makes this stand out is the venue. Charity galas usually stick to thank-you speeches. This one produced headlines in Hollywood and Washington instead.
