MGM+ has released an extended trailer for The Institute Season 2, with the new season set to premiere on 8 November.

The footage gives the first extended look at the next chapter, including the first footage of Alfie Allen as newcomer Nolan Reeves, according to Deadline.

Allen plays an eccentric European tech billionaire. He is a financial backer of the Institute, the secret facility at the centre of the story. He has money. The Institute needs it.

The series is based on Stephen King's bestselling novel. Season 2 picks up after Luke and his friends escape from Dennison. They are searching for a way to end the Institute for good.

That plan gets harder. The Director turns to Reeves to help rebuild the operation. Meanwhile Ms. Sigsby, played by Mary Louise Parker, is living as a fugitive and looking for a way back "in".

Several familiar faces return. Joe Freeman is back as Luke Ellis, with Ben Barnes as Tim Jamieson and Parker as Ms. Sigsby. Simone Miller returns as Kalisha, Fionn Laird as Nicky and Arlen So as George, alongside Robert Joy as Dr. Hendricks and Hannah Galway as Wendy.

Behind the camera, Benjamin Cavell wrote the teleplay and Jack Bender directs. The series is executive produced by King, Bender and Cavell, with Gary Barber, Sam Sheridan, Ed Redlich and Michael Mahoney.

The new season will premiere exclusively on MGM+ in the U.S., UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia. Amazon MGM Studios Distribution will handle the series in all other international territories.

MGM+ has also released official key art for the season, as reported by BroadwayWorld, alongside first-look images.

For fans, this means a clear date to mark. Luke's group is out, but the Institute is rebuilding, and the fight over what happens next starts on 8 November.
