A missing heir is at the centre of the first full trailer for Yaga, which launches on AMC+ on 23 October.

The trailer puts Carrie-Anne Moss and Hudson Williams front and centre, as reported by Deadline. It offers the clearest look yet at the eight-part series. Eight episodes. Half an hour each.

The rollout is straightforward. The first two episodes arrive on 23 October, followed by weekly releases, with a two-episode finale on 27 November, according to The Hollywood Reporter. That serialised release, meaning episodes drop week by week rather than all at once, gives viewers a month to follow the mystery.

Yaga reimagines the myth of Baba Yaga in a coastal town. Williams plays Henry Park, the young heir to a powerful fishery whose disappearance sparks the investigation. Moss plays Katherine, a charismatic university professor. Clark Backo plays Carson, a local detective, and Noah Reid plays Rapp, a private investigator. Williams also plays a second role, a dual part that the trailer keeps deliberately unclear.

The music is doing some heavy lifting. The trailer uses a cover of “Season of the Witch” recorded by Alanis Morissette. It plays over quick cuts of town life, strange behaviour and Katherine watching from the edges of the story.

The series comes from creator Kat Sandler, who serves as writer and showrunner, meaning she leads both the scripts and the production day to day. It is based on her own theatre play. David Frazee and Rachel Talalay directed the series, which is produced by Front Street Pictures and Blink49 Studios. Executive producers include Sandler, Mackenzie Donaldson, Andrew Miller and Moss.

Yaga is a Crave original series made with AMC+. AMC Global Media acquired the show for the United States, while Sky has picked it up for the United Kingdom and Ireland, with further territories to follow, according to Bell Media. The series premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was listed in Bell Media’s 2026/27 original content slate. Bell Media has described it as a genre-bending mystery thriller.

For viewers keeping track, there is a lot of cast to meet. Alongside the four leads, the ensemble includes Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle and Hiro Kanagawa, plus Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris and Sam Krochmal.
