MGM+ Sets 23 November Premiere for New Wave Docuseries

MGM+ will premiere "New Wave" on 23 November, a four-part docuseries about the new wave rock movement of the 1970s and 1980s, as reported by Variety.
Four episodes. Ten years of music. New instalments will arrive weekly on Mondays at 9 p.m. in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
The series covers 1977 to 1987. It traces how new wave carried alternative culture into the mainstream, and looks at its effect on music, fashion and pop culture, according to MGM+.
A docuseries, meaning a documentary story told across several episodes, lives or dies on its voices. This one leans on the people who were on stage.
The interview list includes John Taylor of Duran Duran, Billy Idol, Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo, Stewart Copeland of the Police and Chris Frantz of Talking Heads. It also features Curt Smith of Tears for Fears, Fred Schneider and Kate Pierson of the B-52s, Johnny Marr of the Smiths, Jim Kerr of Simple Minds and Kathy Valentine of the Go-Go's.
Behind the camera, Douglas Tirola directed the series. Richard Blade, the longtime radio presenter, serves as consulting producer, advising the production. It is produced by This Machine Filmworks for Sony Pictures Television.
For viewers, this means four Monday nights with first-hand accounts from across the genre. MGM+ is billing it with the tagline "The sound of a generation," in a post on MGM+ on Facebook.
