Bruno Mars's 'I Just Might' has spent a 31st week at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, tying the longest run at the top in the chart's 68-year history. The milestone was confirmed on the ranking dated Oct. 10, published on Oct. 6, according to Billboard.

The song now sits level with 'Luther' by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, which held No. 1 for 31 weeks across 2024 and 2025. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs is a multi-metric chart, meaning it combines official streams, radio airplay audience and sales in the United States to set positions.

In its record-tying week, 'I Just Might' drew 5.3 million official U.S. streams and 51.9 million in radio airplay audience. It sold 1,000 copies in the U.S. in the same period. All three figures cover the tracking week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1 and were reported by Luminate, the data provider that feeds Billboard's charts.

'I Just Might' has held the top spot almost continuously since it arrived. It debuted at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs on the chart dated Jan. 24. That is rare. Most chart-toppers climb to No. 1 after weeks on the list.

The song also started at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, the ranking that covers all styles of music in the U.S. It became Mars's 10th No. 1 on that chart. It entered the Billboard Global 200, which tracks streams and sales worldwide, at No. 4, according to Billboard.

U.S. radio has carried much of its run. 'I Just Might' topped both Pop Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay, the Billboard charts that measure plays on mainstream pop and rhythmic radio stations. It reached No. 2 on Adult R&B Airplay, which tracks plays on adult-targeted R&B stations.

'Luther' set the standard that Mars has now matched. The Lamar and SZA collaboration spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100. It finished 2025 as the year-end No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Along the way it tied 2024's 'Not Like Us' with 22 weeks on top in May 2025 before extending its run to 31.

What makes this stand out is duration. Thirty-one weeks is more than seven months at No. 1. For fans following the count, this means the record is now shared. One more week at the top would give 'I Just Might' the outright lead.
