The Prince of Wales greeted Ross Kemp by rubbing his arm and asking for Celebrity Traitors spoilers.

The exchange happened in Ilminster, Somerset, where the two met for a National Emergencies Trust event Royal Central. William is patron of the trust. He and Kemp were attending the launch of its Ready Together toolkit, a guide to help local communities prepare for extreme situations.

William laughed as he copied the arm rub. The gesture was a direct reference to the show, after singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock rubbed Kemp's arm on screen and drew a startled, suspicious reaction from him. William also teased Kemp about his paranoid manner on the programme Metro. Kemp laughed along.

Then came the request. William said he was hoping to get spoilers about the celebrity series from Kemp Royal Central. No secrets were reported.

William is described as a fan of The Traitors Digital Spy. The Princess of Wales is also believed to be a fan, according to The Independent. The Traitors is a BBC show. Its celebrity version puts famous faces through the same game of trust and bluff.

Kemp needs little introduction for many viewers. He is known as an EastEnders star Digital Spy and as a documentary-maker BBC. He is starring in the latest celebrity version of The Traitors.

On the show, Kemp was pre-selected by the traitors to be protected from burial, along with Romesh Ranganathan BBC. That early twist spared the pair from one of the programme's first eliminations.

What makes this stand out is how quickly the royal small talk turned into fan talk. For fans, this means one more high-profile viewer to add to the list. William did not get his spoilers. Kemp kept quiet.
