Prince William Teams With Celebrity Traitors Star Ross Kemp to Launch Emergency Kit

Prince William pressed Ross Kemp for Celebrity Traitors spoilers while launching a national emergency-preparedness plan in England. The outing paired official duty with a reality-TV connection many viewers will recognize.

William, the heir to the British throne and elder son of King Charles III, traveled to Somerset on Oct. 6, 2026, to introduce the initiative BBC. The event took place in Ilminster, a market town in the county. He was joined by Kemp for a Ready Together training exercise held that Tuesday. The pair spent the day with residents taking part in the rollout.

Ready Together is a toolkit from the National Emergencies Trust, a charity that supports local responses to disasters. William serves as patron of the trust, a public role that promotes its work Town & Country. The guide is designed to help communities build practical plans for emergencies. Its focus includes extreme weather events such as flooding and wildfires, and it was described during the visit as a winter-ready emergency kit.

Kemp serves as an ambassador for the trust, a supporting role that helps publicize its campaigns. He is a British actor and documentary journalist known for reporting from conflict zones. He is now a contestant on the second season of Celebrity Traitors UK, the celebrity edition of the competition series. That casting added an entertainment angle to a preparedness story.

In Ilminster, William and Kemp joined volunteers and young people for emergency simulations. They also stopped at a cafe that provides employment for adults with learning disabilities. William met community leaders and local business owners during the visit. He also spoke with members of the Ilminster Resilience Group, local volunteers who plan for disruptions.

The lightest moment came when William teased Kemp for spoilers about Celebrity Traitors The Mirror. William has said the series is a big treat for him, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and their three children. The family connection is not new. In October 2025, William presented Stephen Lambert, the producer behind Celebrity Traitors, with an OBE, an honor for achievement and public service, at Windsor Castle, a royal residence west of London.

What makes this stand out is the familiarity of it. A father who watches a favorite show with his wife and kids asked the question any fan would ask. He did it while asking neighbors to check on each other before the next storm.
