Apple TV's Beat The Reaper adds four series regulars

Damon Herriman, Stephanie Nur, Artoun Nazareth and Molly Price have joined Apple TV's Beat The Reaper as series regulars, meaning full-time members of the main cast. Deadline reported the four castings on 6 October 2026.
They join Will Poulter and J.K. Simmons on the show. Poulter stars as Dr. Peter Brown, an intern at Boston's worst hospital. That single job description sets up the central tension. He is trying to hold down a medical career while carrying a past that will not leave him alone.
Beat The Reaper is an upcoming dramedy, a story that mixes drama and comedy, for Apple TV. It is based on the novel of the same name by Josh Bazell. Bazell's book was his debut novel. It was released in 2009.
No character details have been released for the four new arrivals. Their roles are under wraps. That is standard for a show still in production, when the streamer and studio want to keep plot and character specifics back until closer to launch.
For viewers following the build, this fills out the core group around Poulter. A series regular is contracted across the series, rather than appearing for one or two episodes. Four additions at once is a clear sign the ensemble around the hospital is now taking shape.
Behind the camera, Sam Catlin adapted the book for television. He serves as showrunner, the writer-producer who leads the creative decisions day to day, and as executive producer. Tim Van Patten directs the first episode and is also an executive producer. The first episode matters more than most. It sets the look, pace and tone the rest of the series must follow.
Apple Studios and New Regency are co-studios on the project, meaning the two companies share production responsibilities. The executive producer team also includes Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, Natalie Lehmann and Laura Delahaye, according to the same report. An executive producer credit can cover a range of roles, from creative oversight to financing and packaging the series.
Beat The Reaper does not yet have a confirmed premiere date in the materials reported so far. What is confirmed is the shape of the production: a book adaptation, a hospital setting, a lead with a double life, and a main cast that now includes Poulter, Simmons, Herriman, Nur, Nazareth and Price.
