Chris Colfer says he has heard “absolutely nothing” about a Glee revival and has not been asked to return.

Colfer, who played Kurt Hummel across all six seasons of the Fox musical drama, addressed the rumours in an interview with Bustle published on Tuesday, 6 October. “I know nothing and have heard absolutely nothing,” he said. “I wish I did,” he added, according to Entertainment Weekly.

He did not shut the door. Colfer hinted he might consider coming back, joking that fans would come after him with “pitchforks and jazz hands” if he said no outright, as reported by Deadline.

He also spoke about why a return would be complicated. Glee was “a really tough show to do”, he said, and it would be “really hard” to do it now that Naya Rivera is gone. Rivera played Santana Lopez on the series.

The revival talk started with co-creator Ryan Murphy. Murphy told PEOPLE in July that he loved the show and was not ruling out a reboot after noticing renewed interest in the series. In September, he said he had just finished a script for a reboot idea and had spoken to around 10 original cast members who were very enthusiastic.

For fans, this means the project is still early. There is no series order, meaning no network or streamer has formally greenlit episodes to air. It remains an idea in development, with scripts but no slot.
