One Day musical confirms Muscato and Rose to lead West End run

Jamie Muscato and Sharon Rose will lead One Day the musical in the West End as Dexter and Emma.

The production plays London's Garrick Theatre from 17 November, booking to 14 March 2027. It is a transfer, meaning the production moves from its original venue into a commercial West End house. The London season follows a preview run at Edinburgh's Lyceum Theatre.
Muscato and Rose reprise their roles as Dex and Em from the world premiere production. They are joined in London by Dan Buckley as Ian and Anna-Jane Casey as Alison Mayhew. Buckley plays Ian, Emma's boyfriend. Casey plays Alison, Dexter's mother.
Max Webster directs the musical. The spoken story, known in theatre as the book, is by David Greig. Music and lyrics are by Abner and Amanda Ramirez, the husband-and-wife duo behind Johnnyswim. WhatsOnStage
The stage version is based on David Nicholls' 2009 novel about Emma and Dexter. They meet on the night of their university graduation. The story then follows them across 20 years of friendship, love and missed opportunities. It checks back in on the same date each year.
Muscato is known to West End audiences from The Great Gatsby and Moulin Rouge!. Rose's recent credits include Sylvia and Hamilton. She previously appeared in Sylvia at the Old Vic Theatre and in Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre. BroadwayWorld
Official tickets for the Garrick run are now on sale, according to the show's official site. The site lists the 20-year span as the heart of the piece. No further casting details or ticket prices were confirmed in the announcement.
What makes this stand out is familiarity. Millions know Emma and Dexter from the page and the screen. Hearing that long, stop-start relationship sung live is a different prospect. For fans, this means a date to put in the diary.
