Tammy Beaumont will stay with The Blaze until at least 2028 after signing a new two-year deal.

The agreement was confirmed on 7 October, three months after the opener retired from England duty. It extends one of the longest careers in the English women's game BBC Sport.

It also keeps a senior batter at the centre of a team coming off a historic summer. The Blaze won the T20 Blast, the County Cup and the One-Day Cup in 2026 to complete a domestic treble. The Blast is the short, 20-over competition. The One-Day Cup is played over 50 overs a side.

The T20 title was a first for the club. Beaumont and Sarah Bryce both struck unbeaten half-centuries in the final against Durham to seal the Vitality Blast crown in July ESPNcricinfo. That victory started a run that ended with all three trophies in the cabinet.

Beaumont played a full part. She scored more than 900 runs in 35 appearances for The Blaze in the 2026 season. Her overall record for the club and its predecessor stands at over 2,600 runs in 78 appearances.

She has represented the side since 2022. That was the year the team left Loughborough, dropped the Lightning name and relaunched as The Blaze. Her senior story goes back much further. She began with Kent in 2007, which makes 2028 her 21st season as a professional.

Her England record explains the standing she holds. Beaumont scored more than 7,300 runs across 140 one-day internationals, 109 T20 internationals and 12 Tests. She was part of the England squad that won the 50-over World Cup on home soil in 2017. An opener, one of the two batters who face the first balls of an innings, she became known for calm technique and long innings.

For fans, this means continuity. The Blaze keep a proven run-maker for their defence of three titles. Younger batters get another two seasons alongside a World Cup winner who is still scoring heavily.
