Theo Rossi and Ron Perlman Wrap Montana Horror Film Renew

Filming has wrapped on Renew, a suspense-driven horror film starring Theo Rossi alongside Ron Perlman and Rachelle Goulding, Deadline reported on 7 October.

The story follows a husband and wife who travel back to the secluded Montana guest ranch where they were married to renew their vows. What starts as an intimate love story turns darker. The film is characterised as moving from romance into visceral horror.

Rossi plays opposite Goulding as the central couple. Perlman takes a key supporting role. It is a reunion for Rossi and Perlman.

The pair previously appeared together on Sons of Anarchy. They also co-starred in Come With Me and The Saviors. That history gives the new pairing instant recognition.

Renew was directed by Tommy DeNucci. He co-wrote the screenplay with Rossi. DeNucci has worked with Rossi before, directing him in Vault and Play Dirty.

The wider ensemble includes Ronnie Gene Blevins, Allison Dunbar, Sam Daly, Danny Rivera, Rebecca Creskoff, Darko Ostojic, Bonnie Gayle Sparks, Barron Boedecker and Chris Wilks, according to Deadline. The large group suggests the couple’s trip does not stay private for long. More faces arrive as the tension builds.

Production took place in Red Lodge and Roberts, Montana. The film was produced by Diana Hull and Rossi. Deadline has also published a first-look image from the shoot.

For fans, this means a familiar screen partnership in a new setting. A vow renewal. A remote ranch. Then horror.
