Kenny Chesney has opened at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with Silver Sands Marina. The album earned 35,000 equivalent album units, the measure that converts streams and sales into album sales, in the United States in its first week of Sept. 25 to Oct. 1, according to Luminate, as reported by Billboard.

It is his 17th top 10 on that chart. The set also starts at No. 3 on Top Country Albums on the charts dated Oct. 10. That gives Chesney his 23rd top 10 on the country list and his highest placing there since 2020's Here and Now.

Sales did the heavy lifting. Nearly 30,000 of the first-week units came from album sales. That puts Silver Sands Marina at No. 1 on Top Album Sales, which counts purchases only. It is Chesney's 13th No. 1 on that list, which dates to 1991.

Only two acts have more leaders there. Taylor Swift has 16 and Jay-Z has 14. Vinyl helped. The album opens at No. 2 on Vinyl Albums with 12,000 sold on vinyl.

Silver Sands Marina is Chesney's 21st studio album. It holds 11 songs and was produced by Chesney and Buddy Cannon. Guests include Colbie Caillat, Lily Meola and Megan Moroney.

The album is his first for Hey Now Records. The label was co-founded by John Esposito, Clint Higham and Kris Lamb and launched with Chesney as its flagship artist in March.

Radio is already moving. Lead single Carry On has risen to No. 1 on Country Airplay. It extends Chesney's record to 34 leaders on that chart. Follow-up Remember Me That Way was sent to country radio on Sept. 24.

Chesney celebrated the Sept. 25 release with a 22-song pop-up show at the Pinnacle in Nashville. The venue holds 4,500 people. His online store offered several editions, including a CD at $13.99 and an Opaque Spring Green Vinyl with a signed art card at $29.99, alongside a signed edition put up for pre-order and a digital download. He also released an official video for the title track.

The road plan is set. Chesney returns in April 2027 with the Original Vibe Room Tour, organised with Eric Church, Sheryl Crow and Greylan James.

What makes this stand out is the mix. Strong purchases, a fast vinyl start and a chart-topping radio single arrived in the same week. For fans, this means new songs on the radio now and a large-room tour to follow next spring.
