You can now pet a bulldog in James Bond's new game.

Developer IO Interactive has added Jack the bulldog to the TacSim lobby in 007 First Light for all players, after wishlists for the game passed 7 million, GameSpot reported on 7 October 2026. The TacSim is the game's training hub, a lobby space players return to between missions.

The reward was part of a wishlist campaign. A wishlist is a storefront bookmark that alerts a player when a game launches or goes on sale. IO Interactive had set meeting Jack as its next wishlist milestone under the hashtag #EarnTheNumber.

Jack is not just decoration. Players can walk up and pet him. IO Interactive described him as a warm, loyal presence waiting between assignments. Good boy confirmed.

For film fans, Jack is familiar. The bulldog statue first sat on M's desk in the 2012 film Skyfall. It survived the office explosion in that story with a cracked face and a charred Union Jack flag painted on its back. The figure later appeared in Spectre and No Time To Die.

What makes this stand out is how directly the films feed the game. Bond does not keep pets. He keeps mementoes. Jack is one of the few objects that followed M's office from ruin to rebuild, and now it follows players into a new origin story.

The bulldog arrived alongside free extra content. The Extended Operations DLC, short for downloadable content, has been released at no extra cost. It adds New Game+, which lets players restart the story while keeping unlocked skills and gear, a harder 00 difficulty mode, and a Photo Mode for staged in-game pictures.

The same update expands the TacSim with more content, including a new mission set in Vietnam. IO Interactive has used the TacSim as a place for side assignments outside the main Bond story.

There is also a price cut for newcomers. 007 First Light is discounted by 30% to US$49 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A version for Nintendo Switch 2 has a scheduled release in March 2027.

The timing lines up with Bond season. 5 October is James Bond Day, marking the anniversary of Dr. No and its released date of 5 October 1962.
