007 First Light adds free driving mission and photo mode

Bond has a new set of keys. 007 First Light received its free Extended Operations update, released on 1 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The update was developed by IO Interactive. Its centrepiece is the Valhalla Protocol, a driving challenge built around Bond's Aston Martin Valhalla.
The mission is set in Slovakia. Players race against the clock across four different versions of the track. The car shoots back. It is fitted with guns and missile launchers, according to GameSpot.
Extended Operations also adds a new ground mission called Jungle Heist. Bond infiltrates a jungle villa to track down who is hiding the codes to a secret safe, retrieves what is inside, then fights his way to an extraction point.
The arsenal and wardrobe grow too. There are two new weapons, the Squire Marksman rifle and the Storm 12 shotgun, and three new outfits: Leisure Beam, the First Class tuxedo and Observant Spy.
For replay value, the update adds New Game+, a mode that lets players start the campaign again while keeping outfits unlocked from the first playthrough. It also adds 00 difficulty, billed as the ultimate challenge with tighter resources and deadlier enemies. Then there is photo mode, a tool that pauses the action for staged shots, with filters, customised light setups and exclusive poses.
The free release follows strong early sales. 007 First Light reached 4 million units sold in August 2026 across PC and consoles, according to GameSpot. A Switch 2 edition is expected to arrive in March 2027.
What makes this stand out is the mix. Driving, stealth, dress-up and snapshots in one free package. For fans, this means more reasons to stay in Bond's world without paying extra.
