Hulu's Conviction Adds Abraham, Gaston and Friedman

F. Murray Abraham, Michael Gaston and Peter Friedman have joined Hulu's drama Conviction in recurring roles, Deadline reported on 7 October 2026.
Recurring means they will appear in multiple episodes without being credited as full-time series regulars. They add three additional names to a cast still being announced. The announcement builds out the ensemble around the lead.
The series comes from David Shore. It is adapted from Jack Jordan's 2023 book of the same name. An adaptation takes an existing book and reshapes it for television.
Elisabeth Moss stars at the centre of the show and is also an executive producer. An executive producer credit often covers creative input as well as business responsibility. Moss plays Neve Harper, a criminal defence lawyer.
Defence lawyers represent people accused of crimes. Harper takes on a case with high personal stakes. Her client is a husband accused of killing his wife by setting fire to their home.
Harper must handle the courtroom fight while dealing with pressure outside it. She is being blackmailed by a mysterious stranger during the case. The series follows both threads.
In the new casting, Gaston will play Detective Joe Sapricone. Abraham will play Dimitri Pasternak, while Friedman will play Arthur Mill. The report names the roles without giving further character detail.
Abraham's credits include The White Lotus and Homeland. Friedman's credits include Succession and The Affair. The credits give general viewers a point of reference for the new arrivals.
They join a supporting cast that already includes Jimmi Simpson, William Jackson Harper, Kevin McKidd and Sebastian De Souza. Adam Godley, Linda Emond, Ella Anderson and Liza Colon-Zayas are also billed. Together they form a large group around Moss's Harper.
The producing line-up is listed in full in the report. Executive producers are Shore, Moss, Jordan, Warren Littlefield, Ann Johnson, Lisa Harrison, Bert Salke, Lindsey McManus and Erin Gunn. That team includes the original author, the star and other drama producers.
For viewers, this means the faces opposite Moss are coming into focus. Three character names now have actors attached. It gives audiences a clearer sense of who will appear alongside Harper.
