Wolford has teamed up with Woolmark for the first time on luxury bodywear cut from merino wool.

Wolford, the bodywear maker based in Bregenz, Austria, joined Woolmark, the body that runs the certification mark for merino wool, for a capsule collection, a small limited range. The collection was due to be unveiled and to go on sale on Thursday, 8 October, according to WWD.

It comes in two parts. Pure Wool and Seamless Wool are the names of the two product stories.

Pure Wool keeps it simple. It offers a sleeveless top and a long-sleeve top made from 100 percent merino wool, a fine, soft fibre shorn from merino sheep.

Seamless Wool leans on stretch. It uses a blend of 85 percent merino wool with stretch yarns, made with seamless knitting, a technique that shapes garments without stitched seams. The line-up includes a dress, a sleeveless top, a skirt and a bodysuit.

Colours run from butter cream and red to dark wood and black. Wolford lists a top from the collection at EUR 295. The launch is backed by a dedicated campaign called “second skin crafted in wool.”

The fabrics took work. It took more than one year to clear technological barriers and develop prototypes with the right yarns, chairman and chief executive officer Marco Pozzo said.

For shoppers, this means bodywear that feels like Wolford but behaves like wool. Close-fitting and light, yet warm.

The launch follows change at the top. Pozzo joined Wolford as deputy chief executive in July 2025 and was named chairman and chief executive in March. He succeeded Regis Rimbert, who left in January after six months. Creative director Nao Takekoshi has led design since 2023.

Wolford has also completed a capital increase of EUR 25 million to fund its strategic reset, a plan to refocus the business.
