Christian Nodal's 'No Te Contaron Mal' passes 1 billion YouTube views

Christian Nodal's official video for "No Te Contaron Mal" has passed 1 billion views on YouTube. Billboard confirmed the total on 8 October 2026. It is the Mexican singer-songwriter's second video to reach the mark.
His first was "Adiós Amor." That video passed 1 billion views in 2020. The new entry was also listed as joining the Billion Views Club in the YouTube Music Charts report dated 7 October 2026.
The "No Te Contaron Mal" video was directed by Omar Torres and Victor Zambrano. It was published on YouTube on 10 October 2018. An official lyric video followed in 2020.
Nodal wrote the song with Edgar Barrera. It appeared on his second album, Ahora, from 2019. The single was released in September 2018 and was later included in Billboard's 20 Best Latin Songs of 2018: Critics' Picks list.
On the charts, the song spent 38 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Regional Mexican Airplay chart, which measures radio plays on regional Mexican stations in the United States. It also reached the top 10 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart, the overall ranking for Latin songs in the US.
The song won a Latin Grammy. It also won regional Mexican song of the year at the BMI Latin Awards, which honour songwriters and publishers.
What makes this stand out is the timespan. The video has built its audience steadily since 2018. For fans, this means Nodal now has two separate billion-view videos six years apart.
