Best Buy to open late for Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launch

Best Buy will open its doors after midnight for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on Nintendo Switch 2.
The United States retailer has scheduled midnight in-store pickup for 5 November 2026 Best Buy, the date Nintendo lists as the launch date for the game. The remake is exclusive to Switch 2, Nintendo's current home-and-handheld console Nintendo.
Shoppers who already preordered can switch their order to midnight pickup GameSpot. You do not need a preorder to take part. Best Buy says copies will be on sale at the late-night opening for walk-in customers. Midnight pickup means ordering ahead and collecting in person just after the clock turns.
Hardware hunters get an extra draw. Limited quantities of the 40th-anniversary Zelda Switch 2 system and the Zelda Switch 2 Pro Controller, a full-size extra gamepad, will be available at the event. The console and controller are special editions tied to the series anniversary. Best Buy describes quantities as limited.
Timing shifts by region. Best Buy lists the openings for midnight ET on 5 November. That is 11 p.m. CT, 10 p.m. MT and 9 p.m. PT on 4 November. Shoppers in the west will therefore start on the evening of 4 November on the local clock.
The game itself is a remake, a from-the-ground-up rebuild, of the adventure that launched on Nintendo 64 in 1998. Nintendo says the new version has completely overhauled visuals and fully voiced cutscenes, story scenes with spoken dialogue. It was revealed as part of The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary celebration in a Nintendo Direct presentation, the company's online video showcase for announcements.
Nintendo UK lists the digital version for Switch 2 at £49.99 Nintendo. That price covers the download from Nintendo's own UK store. Physical prices and other regional prices were not included in the verified details.
For fans, this means planning a late night. Bring your order confirmation if you switched to pickup. Check your local store time before you travel. The late-night format suits players who want to start straight away rather than wait for morning delivery.
Midnight launches were once routine for big games. They are rare now. That is the hook here. Buy at midnight. Play at dawn.
