Omar Courtz Takes First Latin Airplay No. 1 With 'KOKO'

Omar Courtz has his first No. 1 on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart as "KOKO" rose 3-1 on the ranking dated Oct. 10. Latin Airplay is Billboard's weekly measure of the most-played songs on Latin radio in the United States. The move was reported by Billboard on Oct. 8.
The song drew 7.5 million audience impressions in the US in the tracking week ending Oct. 1, according to Luminate. Audience impressions combine the number of plays with the number of listeners tuned in. That total was up 15% week on week.
"KOKO" was released by Mr. 305/Rimas. It gives the label its first Latin Airplay leader of 2026 and its first in more than six years. The label last topped the chart with Pitbull's "Me Quedaré Contigo," featuring Ne-Yo, Lenier and El Micha, in April 2020.
The Airplay crown followed a first elsewhere. A week earlier, "KOKO" had given Courtz his first Billboard chart-topper on Latin Rhythm Airplay, the ranking for rhythmic Latin radio, on the chart dated Oct. 3. It now stays at No. 1 there for a second week.
"KOKO" has been building for months. It bounced back to No. 10 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs Top 10 countdown for June 20, a combined count of streaming, sales and airplay. In July, Billboard also included the track among its "Best Latin Songs of 2026 (So Far)" staff picks.
There was a big mover on another radio chart. El Fantasma earned his 10th No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay, which tracks plays on regional Mexican stations in the US, as "El Culpable" leapt 14-1 on the Oct. 10 chart. That is a jump. The song posted 6.9 million audience impressions, up 106%, according to Luminate.
The tenth leader puts El Fantasma level with Edén Muñoz for the fifth-most No. 1s among solo men on that chart. Christian Nodal leads that group with 17, followed by Gerardo Ortiz with 14 and Carín León with 12, according to Billboard.
For listeners, this means two US Latin radio formats head into mid-October with fresh stories at the top. One is a breakthrough first. The other is a double-digit milestone for an established act.
