Troye Sivan releases She's the Best and shares video for FF
Troye Sivan released his album She's the Best on 9 October alongside a music video for the song “FF.” The record is his follow-up to his 2023 album Something to Give Each Other. The video landed at midnight ET.
He did not undersell it. Ahead of the release, Sivan teased the clip on X as “the gayest music video of my career.” In a reply to a fan on the same platform, he added that it would be “GAY gay.”
The wait was short. On 7 October, Sivan posted that the “FF” video would arrive the next day at midnight ET. That post pointed fans to the overnight drop that came with the album.
The finished video was directed by Gordon von Steiner. It includes product placement for Mistr, the sexual health company, Pitchfork reported. Von Steiner has organised high-fashion shoots and music visuals, and here he keeps the focus on Sivan and a cast of men in close, club-ready scenes.
Sivan has described “FF” as “an undying love song to a man I don’t know yet.” He said the song is about the longing and loneliness of loving someone who is not here yet. A single is a song put out to introduce an album, and “FF” was not one of the advance singles. It arrived as part of the full collection.
She's the Best was led by two singles: its title track and “Party.” The video for the title track starred actor Nicole Kidman. The video for “Party” was narrated by actor Ian McKellen.
Sivan had confirmed the 9 October release date earlier in the month, with signed vinyl among the pre-order options. That timetable set up a busy week of teasers before the album and the “FF” video arrived together.
For fans, this means the rollout is now complete. The two star-led videos introduced the project. The “FF” video closes the launch week with a track that Sivan has framed in his own words as a love song to a stranger.
