Netflix Wraps 'Little House on the Prairie' Season 2, Adds 10 to Cast
Walnut Grove is getting crowded. Netflix has wrapped production on Season 2 of Little House on the Prairie and rounded out its ensemble with ten new actors, according to Deadline.
The new names are David Wronko, Erik Athaval, Elyse Levesque, Graham Harvey, Jacinta Forest Lewitski, Lyla Porter-Follows, Martin Roach, Paul Greene, Ryan Northcott and Scott Porter. Nine join as recurring guest stars, meaning they appear across multiple episodes without joining the main cast. Scott Porter joins as a guest star, meaning a shorter appearance.
The Oleson family grows. Ryan Northcott will play William Oleson, husband to Margaret Oleson and father to Nellie Oleson. Charlotte Sullivan plays Margaret and Willa Dunn plays Nellie.
The Perry household is also new. Paul Greene will play Luther Perry, a grain buyer and town baker who poses a threat to farmers. Elyse Levesque will play his wife Emma Perry, mother to Maud and Thomas.
Faith and trade get new faces too. Erik Athaval will portray Reverend Alden, the energetic minister who leads Walnut Grove's Congregational church. Martin Roach will portray Simon Hughes, a Civil War veteran and widower who owns the Blacksmith Shop.
Two arrivals point to farm life. Lyla Porter-Follows will portray Mrs Lena Nelson, an outspoken young widow in charge of the farm her husband left behind. Her farm manager is Hannah Walker, played by Jacinta Forest Lewitski, who is part Dakota and plays first base for the Prairie Clippers. Graham Harvey will play Johnny Johnson, the son of Norwegian immigrants and a farm boy who has never attended school.
Family ties tighten at the top. Scott Porter will portray Uncle Peter, the older brother to Charles, known as Pa Ingalls. Luke Bracey portrays Charles.
They join a young central cast. Alice Halsey portrays Laura, Skywalker Hughes portrays Mary, Laura's older sister, and Crosby Fitzgerald portrays Ma Ingalls, according to earlier reporting. The series is an adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House book series.
Behind the camera, Rebecca Sonnenshine serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series is produced by CBS Studios and Anonymous Content Studio, with Joy Gorman Wettels executive producing for Joy Coalition and Trip Friendly executive producing for Friendly Family, Netflix notes on its Tudum page.
Netflix renewed the show for Season 2 before Season 1 premiered in July, Tudum reported. That early renewal kept the crew in place. For fans, this means more of Walnut Grove is already in the can.
