Julianne Moore has traded her West Village townhouse for a light-filled duplex in New York after raising her two children in the neighbourhood.

The move was detailed by Architectural Digest on 7 October 2026. Moore lived in the West Village first in a loft and then in a townhouse with a garden. She had planned it for years.

She once said she had dreamed for years about living in a townhouse in the West Village. That long-held wish shaped her last move. It also frames this one, out of the townhouse and into a duplex with a rooftop and plenty of daylight.

The new home was designed with architect Oliver Freundlich. Works by artists Louise Bourgeois and Nan Goldin hang on its walls, according to Architectural Digest. ARTnews identified Moore on 9 October 2026 as a collector of both artists.

Earlier tours show how closely she lives with their work. In a 2017 look inside her home published by Architectural Digest, a Nan Goldin photograph hung in the master bath, the main bathroom attached to the bedroom. A work by Bourgeois hung over the black marble mantel in the upstairs living room.

What makes this stand out is the continuity. The address has changed. The habit has not. From loft to townhouse with a garden to duplex, Moore has kept the same favourite artists on the walls around her family life in one small part of Manhattan.
