Avatar: Seven Havens Premieres With Twin Avatars on Paramount+

There are two Avatars this time. And almost no world left to save.
Avatar: Seven Havens premiered Friday, Oct. 9 on Paramount+ with three episodes now streaming, Variety reported. The new animated series splits the title role between long-lost twin sisters. Both can bend more than one element.
The story picks up 225 years after the ending of The Legend of Korra. A mysterious cataclysm has nearly destroyed the world. Only seven cities remain, known as the Seven Havens, and many benders blame Avatar Korra herself for dooming them.
Viewers first meet Pavi, voiced by Saheli Khan. She is a young bender living in Ellora, the Haven of sand and wind, with a pet cat-monkey named Geet. Ellora is overseen by Captain Karthik, played by Akshay Khanna.
Pavi keeps her true identity secret. That changes when she saves a boy named Jae, played by Major Curda, from a storm outside the city walls. Jae watches her bend multiple elements and realises what she is: the Avatar.
Then comes the twist. Pavi has a twin sister, Nisha, voiced by Aishu Devan. Nisha is also the Avatar. Karthik found her three years ago and has kept her hidden as his ward, telling her to suppress her powers.
An old enemy is back as well. Vaatu, the spirit of darkness and chaos first introduced in The Legend of Korra, appears in the premiere in a smaller form with the ability to possess people. Karthik also reveals his own secret. He is a member of the Order of the White Lotus, the ancient order tasked with training the Avatar.
By the end of the third episode, the sisters choose a path forward together. They decide to continue Avatar training with Jae as their mentor while searching for their missing parents.
What makes this stand out for fans is the release plan. The next three episodes arrive one week after the premiere. Paramount+ is releasing the first season in batches of three episodes per week, Variety previously reported.
The series is planned as a 26-episode, 2D-animated run, according to Deadline. The cast also includes Dee Bradley Baker, a long-running voice of the franchise's creatures. Paramount+ first confirmed the Oct. 9 date during a Comic-Con panel in July.
